CMS Ireland is delighted to announce a one day conference – Sudan – a new dawning… A day of listening, sharing and responding.

The conference will be brilliant opportunity to come together with other supporters for Sudan, to hear news from and to pray for the region.

With the Comprehensive Peace Agreement, signed in 2005, Sudan came out of the long dark night of a brutal 20-year civil war into the dawn of a new day and the hope of a better future. Politically 2010 is a critical year with elections planned for April with the aim of sealing the peace and ensuring long-lasting stability.

The enthronement in 2008 of a new Archbishop and Primate of the Province of the Episcopal Church of the Sudan, His Grace the Most Rev. Dr. Daniel Deng Bul Yak, has seen the church grow and develop with the introduction of several new Dioceses and the appointment of a number of new younger Bishops.

The Bishop of Ibba Diocese, Right Rev Wilson Kamani, is one such Bishop, and will be the keynote speaker at the conference. Bishop Kamani will share about the issues facing Sudan, as well as the many challenges he faces on a daily basis as Bishop of a Diocese in Western Equatoria, South Sudan.
