CMS Ireland Sunday
30th November 2008 – Get Involved NOW!
MATERIAL NOW AVAILABLE
This year, for the first time in many years, we are encouraging churches, across Ireland to set aside a specific day to focus on mission and our connections with the global church.
Under the theme ‘embracing the ordinary’ CMS Ireland Sunday will provide a focus for parishes looking to engage with the everyday challenges of mission. Through a range of creative worship ideas and resources CMS Ireland Sunday will help churches explore how lives are changed and communities transformed when we are prepared to live the revolutionary values of heaven on earth.
The ‘embracing the ordinary’ resource pack provides Sunday service outlines, prayers, readings, alternative worship material, video reflections, posters and a whole host more. The material is flexible and can be easily adapted to suit your setting as we encourage you to make mission the focus.
Planned for St Andrew’s Day and taking place on the first Sunday of Advent CMS Ireland Sunday is an opportunity to reflect on and be inspired by the extraordinary work of God through ordinary people, in ordinary places.
To help bring the day to life we are currently putting together a modern day team of Andrews (and Andreas!) who will be available, on the day, to share their stories of how engaging in mission has worked for transformation in their lives and the wider world.
The material will be available, free of charge, from 22nd September and we hope that it will inspire your church as you put incarnational mission front and centre.
All you have to do to request a copy of the resource pack is contact us through our Dublin or Belfast offices or email [email protected] and we’ll make sure that a copy of ‘embracing the ordinary’ makes its way to you as soon as it’s available.
If you want to book one of the ‘modern day Andrews’ for the day then just let us know when you are requesting your pack. There are a limited number of volunteers available and booking them in will work on a first come, first served basis – so if you’re interested get your request in quickly!
We are excited about the possibilities that a day like this presents and would encourage you and your church to get involved as fully as possible. Even if the 30th November isn’t ideal for you then why not think about using the resources in the spring of 2009 – it could be no less valuable or significant for you as a parish.
We hope that this autumn will see you ‘embracing the ordinary’ and getting a taste of what happens ‘when heaven comes to earth’.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to significant demand we can take no further bookings for our team of modern-day Andrews.
