About Our News Feeds

Introduction
Subscribing to ‘news feeds’ from our website is the easiest way of making sure that the information you want goes straight to your desktop – without the risk of missing anything or even having to visit the site regularly.

News feeds allow you to see when we have added new content that interests you and to gather all of this in place – whether its news stories, blog posts, videos or even podcasts.

News feeds are also commonly known as RSS feeds (Really Simple Syndication).

What do I need to do to read an RSS Feed?
In order to read an RSS feed the first thing you will need is a news reader (or news aggregator). This is a piece of software that checks the particular feeds you have subscribed to and then lets you read any new articles that have been added.

Some web-browsers (like Mozilla Firefox) can do this for you, while you can also download specific applications (like Newsfire or Newz Crawler) that will allow you to access feeds.

Choosing content from our site
Once you have chosen a news reader all that’s left for you to do is to decide what content you would like it to receive.

Anywhere on the CMS Ireland site that has the orange RSS button can be made into a feed for you to access. Just click the orange button and then either drag or copy and paste the URL into your news reader.

You will now be kept up to date when we add anything that you have subscribed to – it couldn’t be easier!

What about email?
The other way to have news from CMS Ireland delivered directly to you is to subscribe via email. Just tick the feed you want to receive, add your email address at the bottom of the page and then click ‘subscribe’. When new stories, blog posts or podcasts are added you will be automatically notified.
