The sunday school in St Mary’s Parish Church in Comber thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the Growing in God Children Resource this year. The parish already has a long standing mission link with South Sudan. The Sunday School Superintendent, Denise Dawson, and her leaders, helped the children to learn and explore what life is like for children in Kayole Community, Nairobi, Kenya. Denise is a teacher in a local primary school and enjoyed using the resource with her sunday school group.

The sunday school decided to boost the fundraising for the Growing in God project by taking part in a sponsored bounce at Airtastic in Bangor. The children and parishioners raised a fantastic £682 for the Tujisaidie school and community group in Kenya.

With over 70 parishes and school across Ireland taking part in this year’s Children’s Resource, it is exciting to see and hear how children from here, are engaging with the lives of children in Kenya.
