Jaimasi from Nepal!

We are now into our third full day here, and so far everyone is having such an amazing time. The team are getting on really well, which we are all so pleased with.

The Journey (Thursday and Friday)
Travel from Dublin to Kathmandu was uneventful, no delays or lost luggage, so we thank God for that! We arrived to a very warm welcome from BA and others, and were driven to our guest house. The experience of driving in Kathmandu is a lot different from driving at home! We got to the guest house and after heading out for some dinner, everyone went to their rooms and fell asleep: we were all exhausted!

Church and Kathmandu
On Saturday, we went to the church service in SD Church. I don’t think I can put into words how amazing it was. During the worship, the presence of the Holy Spirit was so powerful!

Worship here is a lot different to worship at home. So much dancing, clapping and movement to praise God, it was just amazing. The people in the church were the most welcoming people – we felt as if we’d known then for years! So many hugs and everyone had a smile on their face. You could really see that they had the Holy Spirit in them!

We also went for a tour around some of Kathmandu. We started with an ancient temple, which was beautiful. Some of the buildings were damaged from the earthquake, but that didn’t take away from the beauty around us.

Khokana and tiny buses
Yesterday (Sunday), we had the privilege of going to Khokana, which was away up in the hills. The walk there was very long, and it was very hot, but the views on the way were so worth it! We also had a very interesting bus ride on a local bus, which was slightly uncomfortable for the taller members of the team, it was such a tiny bus!

We arrived at the church, and the worship was in full swing. It was amazing to see these people worshipping God. Again, like SD church, the presence of the Holy Spirit was so powerful. It’s impossible to describe the feeling of just being among these people who give their everything into praising God. It was an experience I would say everyone should have at some point. If you get the chance to come to Nepal, do it!

We then went back to the guest house and rested up for today. Everyone is feeling pretty tired, but our hearts are so full!

Thank you for praying for us, and please continue to pray as we continue meeting new people and building relationships here.
