Pray today for ongoing peace and political stability in Egypt and for the many minority groups and vulnerable people whose voices are often silenced or ignored. Pray particularly for the Church in Egypt, that God would strengthen and uphold His people.

EGYPT: Diocese of Egypt
Bishop Mouneer’s priority is to develop new leaders for the Church. He requests that we “Pray that the Lord may send new potential leaders for the church.” Pray too for the plans for the diocesan synod at the end of April.

The Nuba Mountain Bible Institute Cairo is hosting a spiritual retreat with the students today. Bonita (NBIC Administrator) plans to “take them out to the desert for a few hours and give them lots of time in silence. This may be stretching, but please pray that they will hear and experience God themselves.”

Pray for Area Bishop Grant LeMarquand and for St. Frumentius School of Theology. Pray that by His grace and through this ministry, the Lord may call and equip people to help in Gambella, as an area with fast growing churches.

DR CONGO: Bukavu Diocese (with Goma)
Pray for the recently established Diocese of Goma and for Bishop Desire as he sets up diocesan offices and makes appointments to diocesan roles. The first Diocesan Synod is planned for early March.

A new college of theology was opened in Bukavu in October 2016. Pray for the administration as the college becomes established and pray for the students who will study there.

Bishop Bahati asks us to pray for his diocese as they work to plant churches in new areas. Pray for the growth of the Church and for God’s people to mature in their faith.

The diocesan synod is scheduled to start tomorrow and run until Sunday. Pray that the security situation will be stable to allow delegates from the parishes to attend. Pray that the gathering would be fruitful.

Join Bishop Hilary in thanking God for Bishop Harold and the Diocese of Down and Dromore, who have partnered with Maridi for over 15 years. Also give thanks for the other Maridi link parishes. Pray that God would strengthen these partnerships as they continue together.

Bishop Tandema (Olo Diocese) is delighted that so many of his leaders have benefitted from the training workshops he planned for them. He asks us to pray that those who have been trained this year will use their new knowledge and skills for the good of their parishes.
