At the start of September, CMSI launched its annual theme for 2021-2022, which is entitled ‘Kingdom Come - Heaven among us.’
The annual theme provides a special focus for CMSI’s events, presentations and resources and helps to highlight some key aspects of the society’s approach to mission. Recent themes have included ‘Church At The Centre’ and ‘Voices Of Hope’.
Speaking about the new theme, CMSI’s Mission Resource Manager, Roger Cooke remarked:
God’s invitation to enter His kingdom and live a radically new life in Christ is incredibly good news for the Church to embrace and to share. We’re really excited about developing and promoting our new theme. The Kingdom of God is a prominent thread in Jesus’ teaching and serves as a useful summary of his wider ministry. It offers a really helpful lens through which to explore Jesus’ mission and the mission of his Church. Over the next year, we want to consider what it looks like when God’s reign and His kingdom values are more widely established and experienced in the here and now. What does ‘God’s kingdom come’ look like in the context of brokenness, despair and suffering across our world? How can we see - and share - heaven in our midst?
The CMSI staff team and volunteers are available to speak at church services and midweek gatherings - in person and virtually - to share stories of God’s kingdom among us. Get in touch to request a speaker.
‘This, then, is how you should pray: ‘“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven…‘ (Matthew 6:9-10)
