Time together

CMS Ireland

On Sunday the Shyogwe team from Castlerock and Tuam had the honour and privilege to be present at the consecration of Shyogwe’s new Bishop Louis Kabayiza. A day full of joy and celebration as the diocese also bid farewell to Bishop Jered.

Chris sent us this message:

“We arrived safely last Wednesday morning and drove from the capital Kigali to the Shyogwe Diocesan compound an hour to the west. The scenery is stunning - hills as far as you can see, and as lush and green as can be. Bishop Jered welcomed us in his office on arrival, and is genuinely so thrilled that we’re here. Yesterday we experienced our first church service, lasting three hours. It was a service of rededication of the church in Hanaka parish, as it now upgraded to government standards. Bishop Jered thought he would throw in confirmation and Communion at the same time! We’ve visited some schools and clinics as well, and been both impressed by how much is being done in the diocese, as well as the overwhelming needs. We are all happy and well and thinking of you all.”

Since then, the team have been visiting The East African Christian College in Kigali. Rev Chris taught Systematic Theology, while Sara conducted some art workshops.

Please pray for fruitful interactions and connections for this partner visit.
